Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Invoice Done when you use the app. By creating an account or using any part of the service you accept them.

The service

Invoice Done is an online invoicing tool. You sign in, create invoices, send them to your clients, and (if you choose) accept payment online. The app is hosted on Cloudflare, the database is Supabase, and online payments are handled by Stripe.

We do our best to keep it running, but the service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Your account

You need an account to use the app. You must give us a real email address and a password that is yours to use. You are responsible for keeping the password to yourself; if you let someone else use your account, you are responsible for what they do with it.

One person, one account. You can use the app on as many devices as you like with that account.

What you can do with it

You can use Invoice Done for any legitimate business invoicing — UK or overseas, sole-trader or limited company, any trade. You keep ownership of your invoice data; we never claim rights over it.

You may not:

  • Use the app to send invoices for services that are illegal where you operate, or that would breach Stripe's restricted-business list.
  • Try to break the security of the app, probe other people's accounts, or scrape data you do not own.
  • Resell access to the app or operate it on behalf of others.
  • Use the app to send unsolicited bulk email. The review-chase and due-today reminder features are only for clients you have already done business with.

Pricing and payment

There are two tiers: Free (£0, unlimited invoices) and Pro (£9.99/month or £49.99/year). The canonical price list lives on the paywall in the app. We may change prices in the future; if we do, we will email you at least 30 days in advance and the new price only applies from your next billing cycle.

Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings, which opens the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancelling stops the next charge — we do not refund the current period.

Pro includes a 7-day free trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged. If you do not cancel, the first month is billed automatically at the end of the trial.

Pay-by-link (Stripe Connect)

If you enable pay-by-link, your customers pay you directly through Stripe. We use Stripe Connect Express, which means:

  • You sign a Stripe Connected Account Agreement during onboarding. That is a contract between you and Stripe, not us.
  • The money goes to your Stripe balance, then to your bank account on Stripe's payout schedule. We never hold your customers' money.
  • Stripe charges its own processing fees, which we do not see and do not control. We do not charge an additional fee on top.
  • If a customer disputes a payment, Stripe handles the chargeback against your Stripe balance.

The PDF footer

Invoices generated on the Free tier carry a "Powered by Invoice Done" line in the footer with a link back to our site. This is how we let the world know we exist while keeping the app free for users who cannot pay yet. Pro removes the footer.

Our liability

We will not be liable for:

  • Lost revenue, lost profits, or business interruption.
  • Anything caused by your customers (non-payment, chargebacks, or disputes about goods or services you supplied).
  • Bugs in the app that you could have detected before sending the invoice. Always check the PDF preview before clicking send.

Where we are legally liable, our total liability for any single incident is capped at the fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the incident, with a minimum of £50 (so accounts that have paid us less than £50 still have something to claim against).

Nothing in these terms limits liability we cannot lawfully limit (death, personal injury, or fraud).

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your account from Settings. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms or if Stripe / Supabase ends our ability to provide the service to you.

On account closure, we follow the data-retention rules in our Privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page records every revision.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we cannot resolve a dispute by talking, you and we both submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
